Colorado takes the title as the healthiest state in the nation according to a new report released by the WalletHub. With access to thousands of scenic hiking trails and miles of endless beauty, it was no surprise that Colorado earned its spot as the number one state for health and wellness.

The report from WalletHub ranked Colorado as the least obese state in the country with the lowest numbers of obese adults and physically inactive adults. The state also held the 49th lowest percentage of obese children and 47th lowest percentage of adults with high cholesterol. Overall among other key health metrics compared to all 50 states and the District of Columbia, the report recognized Colorado as the healthiest state, while Mississippi was declared the unhealthiest.
